A Guide to Reporting, In Game and on the Forums

In recent cases, some people have not used the Report Abuse function when they should. It is there for a reason; and that reason is so you can help us punish those who break the rules.

And so, I have decided to help Hoodiepanda put together this great thread on what to do and how to do it.

We ask that every player in the server, old or new, look at this thread and read it carefully.

And read the rules as well!

Stop SOPA and PIPA!

Vote no!

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

TL;DR - These bills threaten the Internet, and us. Sign the petition and read this post.

In-game chat protocol updated

Hey guys,

Just letting you know that I've updated the in-game chat protocol to support more characters.
The auto-capitalization has also been changed to allow a capital letter at the start of every word, not every sentence.

This means you can now say things like:
L O L
>.<
^_^
<3
-_-

..isn't that exciting?

Click here to download the latest version of the client with this update.

---

In other news, there have been several other updates/fixes since the game was released, including:
- Fixed bug allowing users to talk to + trade NPCs from long distance.
- Non-tradable items are now dropped on death if you are killed by an NPC - but they will not show up to other players after 1 minute.
- Logging out at the dagannoth kings will now automatically place you at the top of the ladder.
- Collecting a fire cape will no longer remove all items on the ground, only other fire capes.
- Eating at the same time as taking damage will no longer cause the damage to be ignored.
- The update timer now pulses, making it easier to notice.
- Fixed a bug causing trades to complete by clicking the first accept button twice.
- Fixed a bug causing the glove store to claim you didn't have enough money to buy things when you did.
- Added equipment stats to various items including vambraces and spined armor.
- Fixed a bug allowing you to keep the God's Glory cape at the end of a game.
- NPCs now retaliate whenever you attack them, even if you only hit 0.
- Added the ability to poison daggers and arrows.

Enjoy!

A Note About Global Messages

Jan 09, 2012 - 8:12 PM - by Ikillyou153

Hey everyone,

The staff team and I have discussed the use of global messages in-game as a means of advertising trades, and have decided that we will no longer do this for people. Many players have asked us to send out global messages to advertise what they're selling or buying, and this is unfair to other players as it draws more attention to the other person.

Imagine this: Two people are selling whips, both for the same price. If one of them asked a staff member to send out a global message saying "[player] is selling a whip at Varrock!" he would most likely be the one to make a sale. It's also a hassle for the staff, too (you don't even know how many people ask us this). So please, refrain from asking us to do this anymore.

This also goes for other staff too, we have agreed to stop using the message system for personal trades:

However, we can still advertise events, like drop parties.

Thanks,
